Educate. Advocate. Empower.
The Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council Mission Statement:
Our mission is to educate, advocate, and empower the community to prevent substance abuse across the lifespan in Forsyth County, Georgia.
Please use this website as a resource for prevention as well as for those in need of intervention, recovery and support.
Our Resources page will give you information on how to talk to your kids about drugs. Links to education materials on drugs, their affects and the disease of addiction can be found on this page.
If you believe your child is using, the My Child Is Using, Now What? page is for you. Here you will find resources for drug screening, a first step assessment, as well as intervention and recovery programs. We have so many great resources right in our own backyard!
Parents need support and resources when they find out their child is using drugs and/or alcohol too, so please go to the Parent Recovery Network page to get connected to other parents in the area. You are not alone in this walk. We have found it really helps to get the support of parents that have been through it for a while and to get resources. Most parents have no idea what to do when they find out their child is using. The more education and support you get right away the better off you and your child will be.
